Bio & Contact

Sharron Idol – geek-girl, former musician, and author of the New Hollycopse series’ is in many ways an enigma.

Born as an accidental late birth to a then-dysfunctional family, Sharron-Idol has almost no prior literary history other than song writing, some unpublished poetry, a couple of eBooks, and a few articles that she wrote for a technology website.

Her unique experiences in her childhood have given her an insight into the lives of country folk, farming, and the world of horses.

Sharron originates from the county of Hampshire in England, where she was brought up in a house which was at the time right on the edge of the countryside; with fields, watermeadows, and a confluence of streams at the back of the property, as well as nearby access to grassy meadows and wooded areas, cow fields, crops and agriculture.

As a child during the 1970’s Sharron would often walk miles across rolling fields and along public footpaths and bridleways. She’d also, at times, have the privilege to ride and to help look after a horse away from home, in addition to a few simple countryside activities, such as chopping wood, assisting the hunt, blackberry picking, exploring and maintaining woodland, and even driving a rather old Massey Ferguson tractor a number of times.

Presently in the 2020’s, at time of writing, Sharron is now in her late fifties, and has picked up a disability through the loss of a leg due to a motorcycle accident in the late Twentieth Century at age thirty.

Sharron-Idol also established a short career as a pop star between 2013 and 2018, writing her own material and composing tunes. Sharron’s musical career pretty much came to a stop in 2018: She hasn’t released anything since, but the talent is still festering under the surface, and the voice is still acceptable.

Sharron has used much of her prior knowledge and combined many of her own experiences into her three-part story “New Hollycopse”. She also drew a lot of inspiration from the works of Monica Dickens, as well as other various sources and authors.
